Offener Brief an das revolutionäre patriotische kurdische Volk "We are standing at an historical jonction. We are faced with an historical task and responsibility. We have to make an historical decision to leap forward. An unprecedented liquidation, weakening, and disarmament attempt have been forced upon our party. At this junction, we will either be simple executor of this plan, and thereby we would kill ourselves, or we will say 'No!' with all our force against this liquidation plan. Firstly, our ideology, beliefs, and aims, which are to be 'wrong, utopian, dogmatic, and without meaning' have been taken away from us. The Kurds are now being described as 'a people with different culture and language who are part of the Turkish national unity'. The program of national identity and national liberation have been reduced to a program for 'cultural rights'. Within the parameters of this ideology, a substantial disarmamant is nothing but a liquidation. But even this is not enough. Our revolutionary aims are being targeted. They want to liquidate us. Sending of a group of friends to surrender and the resolutions which have passed provide a clear answer for this total disarmamant and liquidation plan, don't they? What would remain of us when this plan is executed until its very end? What meaning will the political struggle have? Nothing. Nothing at all. How can a people or a movement, a political movement whose aims, beliefs, and future aspirations have been taken away, have any political weight and influence? Our fate, all that we have, and our future are at stake. However, we are not discussing about these developments. We cannot. We are forcefully prevented from discussion about these matters. We don't even have a right to talk. Decisions about our future are being taken by a group of 5-10 people. We are told 'not to talk, but to understand and conform'. They condemn our friends even without bothering to respond to them. They who, as a result of their position, wrote reports, opinions, and suggestions within the legitimate frame work of the party. Our friends are subjected to a malicious gossip campaign, which expressed itself in establishing some alliances. Is it possible to say that these acts can be explained with party regulations and comradeship? Why does the PKK Presidential Council act like this? We have to think carefully about this question. A wholesale liquidation is being carried out with very few utterances of dissent. To carry out this plan, they would like to take advantage of our sense of loyality and our sensitivity about the unity of the party. However, on which platform we will remain united? The struggle of 25 years has been refuted. We are left without any aim. All our values and gains are being demolished. On such a platform we are forced to stand as one. The Special War Department wants our liquidation, without leaving any trace of us behind. What is the relationship between a unity based on such developments and our party unity? We refuse such liquidationist unity. We have to do it. In reality, the decision passed by the PKK Presidential Council have no political, legal, or moral base. The 6th Congress Assembly chose the Central Committee members in order to implement the decisions of the 6th Congress. Instead, what they have done? They all knew that they have no legal right to declare such decisions. They have knowingly committed a crime against the party. The Special War Department has not satisfied itself with the 'defense' platform, even though in the trial defense statements a completely acceptable platform, in terms of imperialism and the Turkish Republic system, were represented. It was declared that PKK will no longer be an opposition force, but rather a force united with the state in return for some cultural rights an an amnesty. Despite all these factors, in the trial defense statements the PKK forces were kept as a bargaining chip. However, the Special War Department found the weak line in the chain. An historical process of withering away was put into motion: Everything about the PKK and the resistance spirit must be razed once and for all. However, everything, including an amnesty, which may give the impression that a negotiation took place would stand against such a background. This should therefore not be allowed. That's why a narrowed version of the Repentance Law have been put in front of us. To trust the state and to make the state trust us have forcefully put before us. This is one of the most important parts of this process. Everything has been done to prove sincerity and convey trust. Let the people who are faithless, ideologically broken, and tired, and the people who have the intention of becoming part of the system, stay where they are. A Democrativ Republic, which is nothing but the Turkish Republic, should be celebrated by them. Let them leave us. We, however, must walk onward our martyrs' path of victory with unlimited bravery and unwavering determination!" PKK Revolutionary Line Fighters September 26, 1999 |
